– The F-14 Tomcat served as the primary air superiority fighter for the U.S. Navy from 1974 to 2006.
– Developed mainly for fleet defense as a carrier-based aircraft.
– Capable of deploying long-range air-to-air missiles including the AIM-54 Phoenix and short-range AIM-9 Sidewinder, alongside the M61 Vulcan gun.
– Equipped with the AN/AWG-9 radar, enabling the tracking of 24 targets from approximately 160 km and simultaneous attack on six of them.
– Features a unique variable-sweep wing design, adjustable between 20 to 68 degrees, delivering excellent STOL and high-speed performance.
