The KIHA Series 183-2550 is a model of the diesel multiple unit designed for 130 km/h operation on the Hokuto limited express. Introduced in 1994 as a strengthened-brake version of the Series 550 , this model faithfully reproduces the appearance and details of the real train.

– Recreates the Series 2550 used on the Hokuto limited express, including the KIHA 182 with the toilet window filled in
– Accurately reproduced HET livery: light gray with blue and green stripes, also called Funkawan Blue

– KIHA 183 front end equipped with a bogie-mounted Arnold coupler

Formation and expansion
– The Hokuto limited express normally runs with 6 to 7 cars and can form 9 cars during busy periods by placing a KIHA 183 lead car in the middle to provide power
– Add-on set item number 97629 allows you to recreate a 9-car formation for peak seasons
